Xiaomi has been making waves in the global smartphone market with its impressive lineup of devices. Following the successful launch of the Xiaomi 13 series smartphones at MWC 2023 expo last month, the brand is now gearing up to release another device in the lineup – the Xiaomi 13 Ultra. As the successor to last year’s Xiaomi 12S Ultra, which was a China-exclusive, the Xiaomi 13 Ultra is expected to make a big splash in the global market.
Exciting news has emerged for Xiaomi fans around the world as reputed tipster Ice Universe has claimed that the upcoming Xiaomi 13 Ultra will indeed be sold in global markets. This is great news for users who have been eagerly waiting for the device to be released outside of China. On the other hand, the Oppo Find X6 Pro may not see a global release, disappointing fans who were hoping to get their hands on the device.
Adding to the excitement, another tipster Snoppy Tech has predicted that the Xiaomi 13 Ultra will make its debut in May 2023. However, it is unclear whether the device will be launched in China first and then made available globally, or whether it will have a simultaneous release in multiple markets.

The upcoming Xiaomi 13 Ultra, which was recently spotted in a leaked live image. The device appears to feature slight design changes from its predecessor, including a circular camera module reminiscent of a DSLR camera. The camera module is set to house four sensors, including a periscope lens, and is branded with the iconic Leica logo, confirming the involvement of the legendary camera maker in the device’s development.
The back panel of the Xiaomi 13 Ultra boasts a unique vegan leather finish, which is sure to set it apart from other smartphones on the market. Interestingly, the upper part of the back panel is raised, creating a distinctive and eye-catching design element. However, unlike the Xiaomi 12S Ultra, the camera island on the Xiaomi 13 Ultra does not protrude, giving the device a more streamlined look and feel.
Xiaomi 13 Ultra features
While there is still much speculation about the specifications of the upcoming Xiaomi 13 Ultra, some rumors have surfaced regarding its key features. According to these rumors, the device will feature a quad camera setup on the rear, with a primary sensor measuring 1 inch. Additionally, it is speculated that the smartphone may come with gimbal stabilization technology, which would greatly enhance its ability to capture stable, high-quality images and videos.
All four sensors on the Xiaomi 13 Ultra are expected to come with PDAF (phase detection autofocus) and dToF (Direct Time-of-Flight) technology, which will further enhance the device’s photographic capabilities. These technologies are designed to improve autofocus speeds and help capture accurate depth information, respectively.
