Those who are eagerly waiting for a standalone YouTube app for their iPhone handsets straight from Google headquarters, they can grab it now. YouTube is a strong video sharing community, but Apple has removed the YouTube app from iOS 6 Beta 4, because the license to include the app has expired. The removal app could be a strong hint that iOS 6 will not have preinstalled YouTube app. Apple also assured that they will come up with a better version of the app for the App Store and Google has also promised to brings its own YouTube app for iPhone.
As promised earlier, Google has released its own brand new, stand-alone YouTube app for the Apple iPhone and it is now available to download from App Store.
The new YouTube app offers “the best mobile experience,” and iPhone users can now see the ads while watching YouTube videos, which were previously blocked by some YouTube contributors for some reasons. You can swipe left on the screen to see more options, such as your account page and all the subscribed feeds. You need to scroll down further to come across all the categories on YouTube.
The release notes for the new YouTube app:
- # Enjoy YouTube’s vast video catalog, including official music videos
- # Find videos and channels more easily with voice search and query autocomplete
- # Subscribe to channels and instantly access your subscriptions with the channel guide UI
- # Read comments, browse related videos, enable subtitles and more – all while watching
- # Easy video sharing to Google+, E-mail, Facebook and Twitter
This app hasn’t been designed to match the high-resolution of the iPad. Google is currently working an optimized YouTube app for iPad and it should be available in the coming months. The newly released YouTube app is compatible with iPhone 3GS, iPhone 4, iPhone 4S, iPod touch (3rd generation), iPod touch (4th generation) and iPad.
