Wait no more, ZTE N880E owners. The most awaited Android 4.2 Jelly Bean update is now rolling out for your handsets. This marks the first Android 4.2 update for any ZTE handset, that too it’s a mid-range Android phone. Great move ZTE. In fact, the ZTE N880E handset ships with Android 4.1 preinstalled, so it took very less time for ZTE to bring Android 4.2 update for the device.
Android 4.2 update brings improved Google Now functionality, 36 degree panoramic pictures, Gesture Typing (that’s Android’s take on Swype), Wireless Miracast support, expandable notifications, widgets on lock screens, new DayDream screensaver, new clock app. Of course, Android 4.2 build’s most highlight feature, the multiple user accounts support won’t be available for the device.
Those with ZTE N880E handsets should be able to grab the update now by heading into Menu –> Settings –> System Update –> Check Update. As of right now, there’s no word when the rest of the ZTE handsets will see the Android 4.2 update. Hopefully we’ll start to see it become available for them in the coming days.
