Acer Iconia Tab A501 with HSPA+ Hitting AT&T on Sept. 18th For $480 Off contract

In late March, the MaBell network has announced its plans to launch the The Acer Iconia Tab A501 tablet. As promised earlier, AT&T has now confirmed that the Honeycomb OS powered Iconia Tab A501 tablet will be launched on September 18th and that the customers will be able to purchase the 16GB version for just $480, sans the contract and $330 on a two-year contract with the carrier. The carrier has yet to confirm the retail price value of the 32GB version. The Acer Iconia Tab A501 is having the 4G connectivity (don’t forget to refer it as “HSPA+”). Unfortunately, this tablet isn’t having the super fast LTE  connectivity. AT&T has recently launched its first LTE capable HTC Jetstream tablet on its air waves.

AT&T’s press release has noted about the Acer Iconia Tab A501 tablet that it will be shipping pre-installed with Android 3.0 on the board, however Acer representative has confirmed that Android 3.1 Honeycomb OS will be rolling out through an over-the-air update. It has also got 10.1-inch TFT display with 1280×800 WXGA resolution, 1GHz Nvidia dual-core processor ticking inside, a 5-megapixel camera on the back side, a 2-megapixel camera up front for video calls, HSPA+ connectivity, HDMI out, Wi-Fi b/g/n, Bluetooth, full-sized USB 2.0 port, HDMI, a microSDHC memory card slot for memory expansion up to a maximum of 32GB, built-in GPS, 3260mAh battery, Android Market, 1GB DDR2 RAM to keep things running and a full host of the Google services. It also got the Clear.fi technology to connect with any other DLNA-enabled device.
