Dell Streak Price Dropped to $400 in USDell Streak

5-inch Android powered Dell’s unlocked Streak tablet’s price has been quietly discounted $180. So the 16 GB Dell Streak model can be purchased by US customers now for $400 without any contract signing. But these special price discounted tablets won’t be shipped to the customers until January 11th, 2011.

The Unlocked 16GB Dell Streak tablet wont come Android 2.2 Froyo pre-installed. Customers should be upgrading from Android 1.6 Donut to 2.2 Froyo via Over-The-Air(OTA) update. The upcoming Froyo update will bring flash player compatibility for browser, speed improvements and many more.

Dell Streak sports 5 inch capacitive touch display,Android 1.6 or 2.2, 1GHz Qualcomm application processor, 5 Megapixels rear camera with 720p video recording capability & a front facing camera, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g, Bluetooth 2.2, USB 2.0 and etc.

For your information, Dell is also selling 32GB SIM-free Dell Streak model for $498.99, which comes with Android 2.2 Froyo preloaded. 16GB Dell Streak in Red & Black for $549, 32GB Dell Streak for $648.99 are also available in line to purchase with 2-year contract.

Good thing is that unlocked 16GB Dell Streak version is coming with discounted price in US. This is an AT&T device in the U.S. Of course this device can only be used for data on AT&T, as it’s a GSM device. AT&T’s Dell Streak models will be getting Froyo update in next year.
