Sony originally announced the new Xperia Z in black, white and purple colors, while its sibling handset, the Xperia ZL would be offered in two colored editions only – black and white. According to a new leak, Sony will release additional color options for the Xperia ZL phone. Yesterday, the folks over at Xperia Blog and Cnet Asia have leaked various pictures of the Sony Xperia ZL in red color. The handset you are seeing in the above image is reportedly a prototype and you can observe the it is featuring a beautiful red rear, along with the red accents on the sides. Of course, phone’s front side is still all black. You can also see Sony Xperia ZL was photographed sitting next to a purple colored Sony Xperia Z (pictured below).
Sony Xperia ZL ships with Android 4.1 Jelly Bean operating system out of the box and packs a quad-core processor clocked at 1.5GHz, 2GB of RAM and a large 5-inch Full HS 1080p touchscreen display, 13-megapixel main sensor with Exmor RS sensor.
There is no info yet available when and where the red Xperia ZL will become available. The manufacturer has yet to come forward with an official announcement. The source also mentions that the new red ZL edition will be made available for South East Asian markets only, but not for global release. We will keep an eye out for this one.
Both the Xperia Z and Xperia ZL will be reportedly heading to Canada very soon. Another leak also confirmed that Sony is working on a tablet called Xperia Tablet Z with a 10.1-inch Full HD display, 8MP shooter and 4G LTE.
