HTC Aria Froyo update for AT&T now available [Download]

Rejoice HTC Aria users of AT&T. As promised earlier, HTC Aria now can be upgraded to long awaited Android 2.2 Froyo OS. The update has just been posted on the HTC support page. The update will require HTC Sync in order to run the Froyo update and it will put the device through a hard reset. Its’ not the Over-the-air (OTA) update. AT&T’s Samsung Captivate also can be updated to Android 2.2 Froyo OS.

# Android 2.2 upgrade from Android 2.1.
# USB Tethering.
# Mobile Hotspot for up to 8 users’ handsets.
# Turn-by-Turn GPS navigation for Google Maps.
# App sharing via Bluetooth, Friend Stream, Email.
# Google Latitude lets you see your friends on a map.
# Google Places, enabling the quickly search for Restaurants, Cafes, Bars and etc, while on the go.
# Some other modifications.

(1) Froyo Update for HTC Aria (exe file, weighing 165MB of size).
(2) HTC Sync (exe file, weighing 69.5MB of size)

Make sure all your apps, texts and whatever you have stored on your phone backed up before you proceed to Froyo update on your handset. For full details/instructions for Froyo update, head over to Quick Start Guide.

How to Update

Download the Froyo update & HTC Sync from above links (1) & (2) –> Connect the handset HTC Aria to PC –> Select HTC Sync –> Launch and Install the RUU Wizard –> Click Finish –>  The handset will reboot –>  Done.
