Amazon Appstore To Launch On March 22

According to a source has revealed to Wired.com, Amazon Appstore for Android devices could launch as soon as next Tuesday, March 22. Back in September, Amazon has announced that it will launch its own Appstore to take on Android Market (Google’s) and in January, has invited programmers to submit Android applications for sale through the company’s upcoming app store.

A few days ago, we’ve already reported you that  Amazon’s Appstore webpage (with /apps suffix to website’s URL) went live briefly for a limited time with a list of non-functional 48 applications with price tags. Angry Birds dev. Rovio also suggested that Amazon Appstore will be launching this week – “Only a couple of more days to go before Angry Birds Rio hits appstores everywhere next week”. We hope that Amazon will set the price tag that matches with customers’ opinion.

The source also noted that the Android users will be able to download apps not only from the web, but also from a mobile application. Amazon Appstore for Android is not just for smartphones, but also for another connected devices. So the tablets also will be able to download the apps from Amazon’s Appstore.

With tens millions of customers already signed up, Amazon Appstore will be a hit. We will be updating you as soon as when the Amazon Appstore for Android launches.
