Few days back we told you that the Motorola Droid 3 could be launching on July 7th. While we were not very sure about the release date at that time, but now we’re. According to folks at Droid-Life, who managed to get the above Verizon internal document, the phone will be launching on July 7th via Direct-fill and will be available at the retail channels starting July 14th. As we’re already having the full specs of the phone leaked yesterday, I think we have enough time to decide whether or not to go for it.
Motorola Droid 3 will be a GSM world phone running Android 2.3 Gingerbread, featuring a 4-inch qHD display (540 x 960 pixels), powered by a 1GHz dual-core processor, 8 megapixel camera with LED flash and 1080p HD video recording capability, a slide-out keyboard, 16GB of internal memory, microSD memory expansion support up to 32GB, mobile hotspot feature and packing the latest version of Blur. The phone, however is missing the 4G LTE connectivity to take advantage of the Verizon’s LTE network.
Should you decide to buy this one, you can either place an order on it starting July 7th via direct-fill or you can wait till July 14th for the device to arrive at your nearest retail store. Though we don’t have the exact pricing details of the phone, we think it could be $199.99 on a two-year contract.
