Earlier, we reported (1), (2) about the LTE variants of the Samsung Galaxy S II and Samsung Galaxy Tab 8.9 devices, which are set to be unveiled very soon. Well, once again, the manufacturer has officially announced the Samsung Galaxy S II LTE and Samsung Galaxy Tab 8.9 LTE variants. The Korean company is getting ready to unveil the Samsung Galaxy S II LTE and Samsung Galaxy Tab 8.9 LTE at IFA in Berlin this week.
Samsung has stated that both these LTE capable devices are capable of delivering as high as 100Mbps down and 50Mbps up which is 5 times faster than HSPA+ speeds. A 4 minute long MP3 track can be downloaded in 0.3 seconds and a feature length film in 2 minutes.
Samsung Galaxy S II LTE
Coming to the Samsung Galaxy S II LTE, the manufacturer has upgraded three parts of the Samsung Galaxy S II. The screen has bumped up 0.2-inches to turn it as 4.5-inch Super AMOLED plus display and the processor has been upgraded to 1.5GHz from the older 1.2GHz – still dual-core, of course, as well as the battery capacity has upgraded to 1,850mAh (up from 1.650mAh). The remaining specifications are same as that of its no-LTE brother Galaxy S II including Android 2.3 Gingerbread OS, LED-flash enabled 8MP rear facing camera, video calling capable 2MP front camera, a pre-installed 8GB microSD card, scope for memory expansion up to 32GB, 16GB internal memory storage, Bluetooth 3.0, Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n, NFC functionality.

Samsung Galaxy Tab 8.9 LTE
The technical specifications and hardware of the Samsung’s LTE-enabled Galaxy Tab 8.9 have remained unchanged. But according to the sources, this device has also been given a 1.5GHz dual-core processor. Galaxy Tab 8.9 LTE will be weighing at just 455 grams, measuring at 8.66mm thickness, sporting 8.99-inch WXGA touchscreen with 1280 X 800 resolution, runs Android 3.2 Honeycomb OS, flash enabled 3MP rear camera, 2MP front camera for forwarding video chats, 6100mAh battery, Bluetooth 3.0, Wi-Fi a/b/g/n connectivity.

The pricing information and availability dates haven’t been provided by Samsung. We will get these details at the IFA 2011 event. Hopefully, we will hear about the Verizon’s variant of Samsung Galaxy S II LTE.
