That was quick. Lucky Nexus devices’ owners can have access to the latest iteration of he Android OS. Google planned to roll out the Android 4.1 Jelly Bean OS for the Samsung Galaxy Nexus, Nexus S and Motorola Xoom devices sometime in mid-July. But, the Android developers have already started working on porting the unofficial Jelly Bean ROMs on Nexus devices. Thanks to XDA and RootzWiki developers. The Android 4.1 Jelly Bean ROMs for the GSM and Verizon branded Galaxy Nexus handsets have been already released and are ready to flash.
These ROMs are flashable, functional, bug-free and fully-official with all the features of Google’s next OS. Everything seems to be working fine. According to the users reports, the new Google Voice Search, the “buttery smooth” transitions are running without any lags. Google Now, one of the coolest features of the Jelly Bean OS, is also running smooth on Nexuses. However, a full wipe is required on your nexus device before flashing these ROMs. A root fix and updated radio can be flashed via Clockwork Mod for the GSM Samsung Galaxy Nexus handset.
