Italian Press were distributed with “Save the Date” call by ASUS Italy distributes for the official presentation of the ASUS Padfone 2, the second generation tablet which is composed of a tablet, a smartphone and a keyboard dock. The announcement is scheduled for Thursday October 16, 2012 at Milan, Italy and Taipei, Taiwan. The event at these locations will probably be simultaneous.
The invitation also depicts a part of the smartphone. The latest rumors indicate that the device should feature with a Padfone Station and a Dock, a makeover to make it thin and light. Currently we do not know if Padfone 2 is also characterized by a hardware upgrade, and especially the integration of a higher-resolution display and a quad-core CPU APQ8064 Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 as indicated by an online test.
Once confirmed with the featuring of the Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 Pro quad-core SoC, Padfone 2 should be at the top position in the performance of the premium smartphone with Android operating system. In particular it would be very clear improvement in the field of 3D graphics performance, thanks to the new GPU Andreno 320, capable of supporting effects of light and shade of much higher quality than the previous Adreno 225.
