Microsoft has sent out invitations for the Windows 8 launch celebration event, to be held in New York, on 25 October 2012, with Windows 8 availability previously confirmed for 26 October. Invitations have been arriving to the press for the event that will show off the final release of Windows 8, Microsoft’s latest PC operating system, looking to take the company into the future.
Meanwhile, Microsoft is sending out invites for a Windows Phone 8 event scheduled for October 29 in San Francisco, to be held at 10 AM PST. The phone platform was shown off during a joint event with Nokia, and also during another with HTC in September. Last month, Nokia showed off its upcoming two mobile phones featuring attractive apps and accessories of Nokia Lumia 820 and Nokia Lumia 920, running on Windows Phone 8 operating system at a Press event in New York City. Mobile manufacturer, HTC also unveiled its Windows Phone 8 devices, HTC 8X and HTC 8S in September and mentioned that these devices will be available from November in over 50 countries.
Microsoft also informed that the developer’s software development kit (SDK) for the OS, which many were expecting at an earlier date, will be available on Oct. 29.
AT&T announced yesterday that they will start selling the Windows Phone 8-powered Nokia Lumia 820 and 920 in November.
Earlier China Times also claimed that Microsoft will be launching its own smartphone to compete with Appleās iPhone 5 and Samsung Galaxy S III. They have been working on its own Windows Phone 8 Smartphone for almost four months and it is supposedly in testing now.
