OnePlus 11 US variants feature 80W charging, while global models get 100W

Fast-charging technology for smartphones is becoming the key selling point these days, when nobody wants to wait for three hours while their phone recharges. The international launch of the OnePlus 11 is still a couple of weeks away, which is scheduled to launch on February 7th. Yesterday we reported about the alleged charging capabilities of the global variant of this handset.

Confirming the several leaks and rumors we had been hearing, the OnePlus 11 was first launched in China earlier this month. The Chinese version is currently being sold with a 5000mAh battery, which charges at 100W blazing fast charging speeds.

However, 100W charging won’t be available outside the China in some territories. Based on a new report published by SnoopyTech, we reported that all the global versions of the OnePlus 11 will have 80W charging capability rather than the 100W available in China.

Quoting that tweet, another tipster, Max Jambor, claims that global models of the phone will retain 100W speeds, with only the US model being downgraded to 80W. It’s worth mentioning that OnePlus’s proprietary 80W charging technology has proven to be a pretty fast option for charging up the smartphone in less than 40 minutes.

That means the US OnePlus 11 model gets slower charging speeds. To recall, The OnePlus 10 Pro launched with 80W charging in most of the global markets, but was limited to 65W in the United States. OnePlus 10T units launched in the US utilized 125W charging speeds, while the global models of the 10T were offered with 150W wired charging capable battery inside.

Specs wise, the OnePlus 11 comes with the flagship Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 processor and offers up to 16GB of RAM and 256GB of storage. It sits on a large 6.7-inch 2K 120Hz display, while that circular camera island on the back houses a new 50MP camera (Sony IMX890 sensor) with Hasselblad branding, along with a 32-megapixel telephoto camera with IMX709 sensor, and a 48-megapixel ultrawide camera with IMX581 sensor.
