Motorola XOOM Official Release for Verizon In US

World’s first Android 3.0 Honeycomb powered tablet, the Motorola Xoom, packing a serious punch of hardware and software specifications, is now finally available in US streets through Verizon Wireless, as promised earlier. Motorola Xoom is the first tablet coming out from the company.

The Motorola Xoom comes with a price tag of $799.99 as full retail price option, though it can be grabbed by $599.99 with a signed 2-year data contract with Verizon Wireless. 3G data service for the Motorola Xoom will start from $20 per month for 1GB of data up to $80 per month for 10GB of data. Xoom will soon be 4G-capable in the second quarter of this year for, upgrading for Free in a couple months.

Xoom runs Google’s latest OS, Honeycomb, designed exclusively for tablets, sporting a beautiful 10.1″ TFT display with 1280×800 resolution, dual-core 1GHz processor, 5MP autofocus rear camera with 720p HD video capture and a 2 Megapixels front-side camera for video calling, 1GB of DDR2 RAM, full 1080p HD support with HDMI-out port, 3G, Wi-Fi, 32GB of internal memory. Another feature that’s missing form the Xoom at the moment is Adobe Flash 10.1 – this will “be available as a free download from Android Market soon.”
