Verizon is now prepping to push out a new and major important firmware update for its 4G LTE capable Android OS powered Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 device. Unfortunately, this update isn’t carrying the most awaited Android Ice Cream Sandwich OS update that you’ve been looking for. The new firmware update is being termed with new build number I905 – EL01, bringing Samsung’s exclusive TouchWiz UI enhancements, Photo editing, Social Hub and many features.
The list of the enhancements, apps, widgets, and fixes coming along with I905 – EL01:
# Mini Apps Tray, which is a One-touch access to commonly used applications—Task Manager, Calendar, World Clock, Pen Memo, Calculator, Music—which overlay in a pop-up window on display screen for powerful multi-tasking.
# Social Hub Widget.

# Wi-Fi Enhanced connectivity.
# Addition of DivX, Bluetooth 3.0 support.
# Additional support for more wireless Wi-Fi routers.
# Addition of AllShare, Memo, Pen memo, Social Hub, World Clock apps.
# Updated Music Player, Video Player apps with TouchWiz enhancements.

The Verizon branded Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 LTE users will be notified on their display panel to accept the OTA update by clicking the “Download” button. If you update fails to make its way to your tablet, you can also manually check for the software update availability by following the instructions provided below.
Move over to “Home” –> “ Applications” –> “Settings” –> “About Tablet / About Device” –> “System Updates” –> If the update found –> tap the “Download” button –> then hit Restart & Install button –> Device Reboots –> Installation process should begin now –> Follow the on-screen instructions –> Let the OTA upgraded process runs successfully. After finishing the installation of the update, the software version should be shown as I905.EL01. Please note that this a big update and it is weighing 351MB of size. So, you must be a having proper Wi-Fi connection with full battery charge, connected to a power source before you proceed for this update process.
