Motorola has started rolling out a new software update for the Motorola Feedback Network members, who have been invited by Verizon to participate in an early preview of a new software release of Motorola Droid X handset. The new software update brings the Droid X handset’s build up to version 4.5.621.MB810. The latest firmware update 4.5.621 is carrying a set of improvements, bug fixes to fix a number of issues that came along with Gingerbread update for Motorola Droid X handset, which was rolled out in June of 2011.
The new update 4.5.2.61 brings browser security (that means it’s nothing but the Google’s 2.3.6 security patch), improved browser experience, improved 3G Mobile Hotspot data connectivity, music player stability improvisation, reduced duplicate message errors and and various stability and bug fixes to the system. Verizon has listed full documentation of the enhancements and bug fixes list on its website.

The new OTA update is weighing is weighing 15.2MB of size and it’s notification alerts should be heading to your Motorola Droid X Soak Test members, asking you to press “Download” button (as shown in the below image) to accept it. However, if the update fails to reach your handset, you can pick this one up by moving over to Menu –> Settings –> About Phone –> System Updates –> If you found any new update’s availability –> Tap Download button –> Hit Install Now button –> Device reboots automatically –> Follow the instructions till the upgraded process finishes successfully in 5-15 minutes (approximately) –> Device reboots again –> Done. The software version on your Droid Bionic handset should be shown as 4.5.621.MB810.Verizon.en.US.
Note: Please keep in mind that this update breaks the root system of your Motorola Droid X handsets.
