The device pictured above is claimed to be the upcoming Asus-made Google Nexus 7 tablet, which is slated to be unveiled this week at Google I/O. The search giant is going to announce first ever pure-Android OS powered 7-inch Nexus tablet. The press above has been unearthed by Gizmodo Australia. The source has provided full specifications of the upcoming Nexus tablet. This press shot isn’t matching with previously leaked alleged press images of the tablet. Confirming the previous rumors, the reliable source has confirmed 7-inches display and Nvidia Tegra 3 processor and Android 4.1 Jelly Bean OS for the first Nexus tablet.
Full list of the supposed specs of the Nexus 7 tablet laid out below:
- 7″ IPS display with 178 degree viewing angles (1280×800 resolution)
- 8GB and 16GB storage options, priced at $199 and $249
- 1.3GHz NVIDIA Tegra 3 processor
- 1GB RAM
- Jelly Bean (Android 4.1)
- NFC with Google Wallet loaded
- 1.2MP front camera
- 9 hours of battery life
- W-Fi a/b/g/n
- NFC with Google Wallet
So, it won’t feature a rear-facing camera. Lacking a rear-camera on a tablet isn’t a big deal. Alongside the impressive specs of the Nexus 7 tablet, its price tag is going to play a big role here. According to the source, Google is planning to sell the 8 gig version for just $199, while the 16 gig model checks in at $249. There’s no word on SD card slot for the device. 3 more days to go for Google to lift the curtains off its Asus-made Nexus 7 tablet at Google I/O.
