With activation of a new 2-year contract, Best Buy offers the Samsung Galaxy Nexus for free. Verizon is still selling it for $99 on contract. So, it’s a total steal especially for a brand new Nexus phone that comes preinstalled with Android 4.0.4 Ice Cream Sandwich OS and soon it will be upgradeable to Android 4.1.1 Jelly Bean OS. GSM capable Galaxy Nexuses have already been upgraded to Jelly Bean OS and Google has recently released the full factory images of Android 4.1.1 build for the device
Amazon is also selling it for free for new contract and it charges $49.99 for upgrades. Best Buy’s deal applicable for both the new subscribers and upgrades. After Samsung’s Galaxy S III came along in North America, AT&T has slashed the price of the HTC One X to $99.99 on a two year contract and Sprint’s HTC EVO 4G LTE handset’s price drops to $79.99 on contract.
