Samsung is getting ready to add a new member to its Galaxy M family of smartphones in the near future. It will be called Samsung Galaxy M54, and surprisingly you’ll see it will be powered by Snapdragon 8 series flagship chipset. The device is going to be the successor of the Galaxy M53, which was launched in April 2022.
The leak comes by way of The Pixel, a Vietnamese YouTube channel, revealing full specifications and design of the upcoming Galaxy M54 handset. According to the resourceful leakster, the Galaxy M54 would be equipped with Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 888 processor under the hood. If you remember, the previous generation Galaxy M53 was launched with MediaTek’s Dimensity 900 chipset.
That said, it looks like the Galaxy M54 is a standard mid-range Android phone, as expected. The full specs sheet doesn’t sound impressive, while the handset will reportedly sport a 6.67-inch Super AMOLED display with FHD+ resolution with 90Hz refresh rate. 90Hz isn’t a noticeable improvement in the current competition, but it may have a significant impact for an affordable mid-range phone. The display has a centered punch hole cutout to house the selfie camera.
The Snapdragon 888 processor is coupled with an 8GB RAM + 128GB ROM storage configuration. The leakster claims there could also be a 256GB model will be available during the launch time. It has a triple camera system on the back side – the 64MP main camera unit will also have an 8MP camera and a 5MP camera alongside, meaning they’ll be ultra-wide and macro sensors. It features a huge 32MP front-facing camera for selfies and video calling support.
Good battery life is essential to any phone, and the Galaxy M54’s massive 6000mAh battery is hopefully enough to squeeze long hours of battery life from it. The device will ship bundled with a 25W adapter in the box. There is no word on which Android version it will run, but we believe it boots the latest Android 13 based One UI 5 out of the box. Samsung has recently announced they will start rolling out the One UI 5 with Android 13 for eligible Galaxy devices by the end of this month.
According to the leakster, the Samsung Galaxy M54 will be available to purchase in Vietnam in late 2022 or early 2023. The device will retail around 10,000,000 VND (~ $414.34 or ~ ₹34,000). The only details that remain a mystery at the moment are related to availability in Indian and the western markets, but we’ll probably get this info when Samsung officially launches the Galaxy M54.
