Samsung recently hinted about the launch date of the new Galaxy A series phones for India. We also learnt that the manufacturer is preparing to bring at least two A series phones to the Indian markets. Today, Samsung has officially confirmed that both the Galaxy A14 5G and Galaxy A23 5G smartphones will be launched in India on January 18th, by releasing a couple of teasers online.
The Samsung Galaxy A23 5G is a six-months old smartphone, which was already launched in the United States for $300 in August 2022. It features a 6.6-inch water drop notch display that supports a 120Hz refresh rate, running on the Snapdragon 695 chipset, pairing up with up to 8 GB of RAM and up to 128 GB of storage.
For photography, it comes packed with a quad-camera setup on the back, which includes a 50-megapixel (main) + 5-megapixel (ultra-wide) + 2-megapixel (depth) + 2-megapixel (macro) cameras. Around the front, it trades an 8MP front-facing camera for selfies and video calls. The primary camera supports optical image stabilization (OIS). The fingerprint sensor is mounted on the power button of the device. Under the hood, it has a bigger 5,000mAh battery with support for 25W fast charging speeds.
Earlier this month, the Galaxy A14 5G made its debut in a few countries. A couple of days ago, it also went for sale in the US in Black color edition for just $199 as the most affordable, best looking mid-range Galaxy smartphone. The Indian version will get multiple color variants.
It comes packed with decent specifications such as a 6.6-inch IPS LCD 90Hz display, a Dimensity 700 chipset, up to 6 GB of RAM, up to 128 GB of storage, and a 5,000mAh battery with 18W charging support. There is a 13-megapixel camera on the front and a triple camera setup on the back – a 50 MP primary camera along with a 2 MP macro, and 2 MP depth units.
Recent rumours are suggesting that Samsung will offer the 6GB/128GB model of the Galaxy A23 for ₹23,999, while the 4 GB/64 GB model of the Galaxy A14 will be priced at just ₹16,499. The manufacturer may also introduce the Galaxy A54, Galaxy A24, and Galaxy A34 in the coming days.
