Acer Iconia B1-A71 Tab

Confirming a GLBenchmark Leak, an FCC application for Acer Iconia B1-A71 tab has popped up today. Several rumors have been doing the rounds that Acer is on the way to introduce its own low cost Tablet soon. As per the GLBenchmark report, the B1-A71 should be what the rumors have been talking about.

The tablet is expected to sport a 7-inch screen with a 1,024 x 600 display, Android 4.1.2 Jellybean, 1.2GHz dual-core processor and PowerVR SGX 531 GPU. These specs look quite real as per the FCC application spotted today. In terms of connectivity, the device has Wi-Fi connectivity but no cellular. Well of course, the device is expected at a low cost hence the missing functionality. But none of these afore mentioned specs are final till any word from Acer.

On the other side, HTC is also planning affordable Windows RT 7-inch and 12-inch tablets for the market next year. The 7-inch is said to have cellular connectivity.

As of now there are no words of the release date of B1-A71 but as CES 2013 coming, soon, we are expecting it to be unveiled there. Even though it is said to cost less, the price is not yet known.
