Another manufacturer Archos has unveiled its new Android Honeycomb powered tablets called Archos 80 G9 and Archos 101 G9. Both tablets will come pre-installed with the newly launched Android 3.1 Honeycomb OS. Both of them have the Android Market inside out of the box, have the option to work with a Seagate Mementus 250GB hard drive, and both 80 G9 and 101 G9 tablets will be released with super affordable price tags $279 and $349 respectively.
Archos 101 G9 comes with a 10.1-inch touchscreen panel with 1024 x 768 pixels of resolution, having an aspect ratio of 16:9, and the Archos 80 G9 is having an 8” touchscreen display with a resolution of 1024 x 768 pixels, sporting an aspect ratio of 4:3. Both tablets are having a kickstand on the back side of the unit, running on 1.5GHz dual-core OMAP 4 processor (ARM Cortex A9) from Texas instruments, both devices are equipped with Seagate’s 7mm Momentus Thin 250 GB hard drive, an HDMI output support for 1080p HD playback, a full sized USB connector for a 3G modem – G9 3G WWAN stick (costs $49) that gets you a Pay as you Go plan. Both the 80 G9 and 101 G9 tablets having Android Market access, and a whole host of a host of Archos branded multimedia apps, a micro-SD card slot for memory expansion support up to 16GB. Both tablets can decode the 1080p videos in any of the following formats with an “optional plugin”: MKV, FLV, RM, RMVB, ASF, AVI, MP4, MOV, 3GP, MPG, PS, TS, VOB, and WMV.
Details about the camera, battery power, and other technical specifications are unknown yet.
Archos has confirmed that the both the 8-inch 80 G9, and the 10-inch 101 G9 tablets will be hitting the retailer stores in September.
Archos has recently unveiled Froyo powered Archos Arnova 7 tablet with 800×480 resolution 7" screen, 4 GB of storage, USB port, micro SD card slot, ability to playback 720p video with various codecs like avi, mkv, and mov files, Google Maps, Android Market access, AppsLib – brings an access to a fair amount of apps, and much more. Unfortunately, this tablet isn’t having a physical camera. The tablet will cost you just $99.
