The ROG Phone series from Asus comes with two new editions today. After teasing for a few days, both the Asus ROG Phone 6D and ROG Phone 6D Ultimate smartphones are launched by the manufacturer.
The latest flagship gaming phones will have a bigger Full HD+ AMOLED display with 165Hz refresh rate, powered by the latest MediaTek Dimensity 9000+ processor under the hood. A couple of months back, ROG Phone 6 series handsets were launched with Snapdragon 8+Gen SoC. Asus has also confirmed that all the accessories for the ROG Phone 6 and 6 Pro are compatible with the new 6D and 6D Ultimate.
Asus claimed they have designed a cooling system called AeroActive Portal for this flagship to bring the greatest performance out of the Mediatek processor. There is a sot on the back side of the ROG Phone 6D Ultimate which can be used with the AeroActive Cooler accessory to lower the temperature. That lets the fan to more unprecedented sustained performance.
There is a ROG Vision color PMOLED display on the back of the 6D Ultimate edition, while the Phone 6D model gets an RGB LED-illuminated ROG logo. Both the Phone 6D and Phone 6D Ultimate phones will have the following list of features:

- 165Hz refresh rate, 720Hz touch sampling rate, 111.23% DCI-P3
- MediaTek Dimensity 9000+ Soc 3.2GHz Octa Core processor
- A three Camera Setup on the rear- 50MP camera with 1/1.56″ Sony IMX766 sensor, 13MP 125˚ ultra-wide camera with f/2.4 aperture, and 5MP macro sensor with f/2.0 aperture
- 8k video recording @ 30 fps, 4k video @ 60fps, slow-motion 4K video @ 120 fps, 1080p at 240fps
- 12-megapixel camera with Sony IMX663 sensor on the front side
- 16GB RAM+256GB storage for Phone 6D
- 16GB RAM+256GB/512GB for Phone 6D Ultimate
- in-screen fingerprint sensor, Ultrasonic sensors for AirTrigger 6, and grip press detection
- IPX4 splash resistant, Bluetooth 5.3 connectivity, 5G connectivity
- 6000mAh battery with 65W fast charging and PD 3.0 charging capabilities
- ships with Android 12 OS with ROG UI & Zen UI skins
Asus will offer both these versions of phones in a single Space Gray color option only. The standard ROG Phone 6D goes at £799 in the UK while the 6D Ultimate will retail for £1,199 but comes bundled with an AeroActive Cooler 6 attachment, which costs around €89. The launch date is yet to be announced.
