On April 13th, Asus will be launching its latest gaming smartphone, the ROG Phone 7, worldwide. While it’s uncertain how many models the Taiwanese brand will unveil at the event, it’s already been confirmed that the ROG Phone 7 will be the successor to the ROG Phone 6, which was well-received by gaming enthusiasts for its impressive performance and features. In fact, the standard version has been spotted on various certification sites, including TENAA, 3C, and Geekbench.

Furthermore, renowned tipster Abhishek Yadav recently leaked information about the upcoming devices, revealing that only the ROG Phone 7 and ROG Phone 7 Ultimate models will be launched this time, with no Pro variant in the lineup.

The tech analyst also shared some key specifications of the ROG Phone 7 and 7 Ultimate, which are confirmed to feature Qualcomm’s latest flagship processor, offering high-speed performance and improved energy efficiency.

According to leaks from tipster Abhishek Yadav, the upcoming Asus ROG Phone 7 and 7 Ultimate will be equipped with a powerful Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 processor, ensuring top-of-the-line performance. The devices will run on Android 13 operating system right out of the box, providing users with the latest software features and capabilities.

Additionally, both phones are rumored to feature the same triple rear camera setup, consisting of a 50MP Sony IMX766 main sensor, a 13MP ultra-wide-angle lens, and an 8MP macro unit. The front-facing camera is going to be a 32MP selfie snapper.

 

In terms of size, the Asus ROG Phone 7 and 7 Ultimate are expected to measure 173 x 77 x 10.3mm and weigh 239 grams, making them relatively compact and lightweight for devices with such high-end specifications. The only difference between the two phones will likely be in the RAM and storage configurations, with the ROG Phone 7 Ultimate featuring a massive 16GB of RAM and 512GB of onboard storage.

The standard ROG Phone 7 is expected to come with a 5,850mAh battery, according to its TENAA certification. However, Asus is likely to market it as a 6,000mAh battery. The phone’s 3C certification listing also revealed that it will support 65W charging. We also expecte both phones will feature enhanced cooling systems to prevent overheating during extended gaming sessions, and powerful stereo speakers for immersive sound.
