World’s first quad-core based Asus Eee Pad Transformer Prime tablet that we recently reported about the pre-order availability by Amazon website, has joined another third party retailer. Best Buy has started taking the pre-orders of the Asus Transformer Prime. Unfortunately, Best Buy is only carrying the 32GB version, which will cost you $499.99.
Asus Eee Pad Transformer Prime runs Android 3.2 Honeycomb OS, but the roll out of the Android 4.0 Ice cream Sandwich OS should happen very soon in December. It comes with NVidia Tegra 3 quad-core processor, 10.1-inch Super IPS+ Gorilla Glass display with 1280 X 800 pixels of resolution, 1GB DDR2 RAM, an 8MP rear camera (1080p video and F2.4 aperture, back illuminated CMOS sensor), 1.3MP front camera for video chatting, an SD card slot for memory expansion support. HDMI and micro USB ports, a set of pre-installed apps, GPS, a gyroscope, SonicMaster Technology for “crisp and acoustically accurate audio”, and a 24Wh battery to provide usage time up to 12 hours and the docking station is also having 22Wh battery. Asus is claiming that the tablet+dock will last up to 18 hours.
