Pantech has released its first ever Android smartphone for the US, to be called Pantech Crossover for AT&T customers. AT&T describes this Android 2.2 running phone as “perfect for first-time smartphone users“. This is not one of those high-end spec’d Android phones that you might be interested for a replacement, but still it’s the first droid device from the handset manufacturer.

Specs wise Pantech Crossover has a 3.1-inch touchscreen display, running on Android 2.2 Froyo and powered by a 600 MHz processor. The phone will carry a 3 megapixel rear camera with camcorder and 4x digital zoom. Also included are the popular AllSport GPS app that offers workout tracking, maps and calorie counter along with Mobile Hotspot feature that supports as many as five Wi-Fi enabled devices to be connected to the phone’s internet connection.
