Samsung Infuse 4G handset owners on AT&T in the USA would be pleased to know that the carrier has promised to release the much awaited Android 2.3 Gingerbread update for the Infuse 4G smartphone sometime this month. This confirmation came right from the AT&T’s official Twitter account, in reply to a query by the user @Drake_Heth. The link posted in the tweet would take you to the AT&T’s earlier press release which also lists HTC Inspire 4G, Atrix 4G , LG Phoenix, Samsung Captivate etc., as the other handsets to receive the update soon. 
As we already know, AT&T has already promised that it would release Android 2.3 Gingerbread update for its each and every Android smartphone sold in 2011. However, the carrier didn’t specify any particular time-frame for the rollout to individual devices. But then, it has always been a case that the more advanced handsets getting the update relatively quicker compared to the other models.
The planned Gingerbread update for the Samsung Infuse 4G is 2.3.4 which also brings the Gtlak video chat support to the smartphone using the phone’s front facing camera. As we are already into the second week of August, expect the update to come your way within the next two weeks.

Sad, been waiting patiently hopefully we can get 2.3.4 very soon.
Where is the gingerbread update for the SAMSUNG INFUSE. It was promissed in august. Still no GINGERBREAD UPDATE. Other phones have recieved updates. But, wheres the update for the INFUSE.
They probably want to release the Galaxy S2 first so people buy that instead of the soon-to-be cheaper Infuse. This is AT&T after all. They aren’t last place in the JD Powers awards for nothing.
This is total crap!!! I’m getting rid of my infuse and going back to apple.

Wow… I will check tomorrow and see if my corporate store has the update for me… if not, there may be a return as I have had a couple of issues with my phone and I believe they are associated with the 2.2 operating system. My son has a Captivate and has the update for better then 2 weeks now…

So, here we are..Late September, and still no update. I love at&t for any reasons, but one of the things I hate about them is the way they lag on software updates for their android based phones.
