The Finnish mobile maker started pushing out the global rollout of the Symbian Belle Refresh update for a set of Nokia handsets. Devices to get it are the Nokia N8, Nokia E7, Nokia C7, Nokia C6-01, Nokia X7 and Nokia Oro.
Nokia’s Belle Refresh update brings the following features and enhancements for the aforementioned handsets:
# Addition of the new browser with improved support for HTML5 web apps
# Addition of the new set of several homescreen widgets
# Addition of the Microsoft Office Mobile and Nokia Maps Suite 2.0 apps
# Improved music player
# Nokia Social updated to 1.5
# A few extra imaging-related apps for Nokia N8 – Bi Screen, Colorize IT, PlayTo and Gallery Widget (photo wall)
— Colorize IT app lets you to add some creativity to your photos. You can make them black and white, and just bring the color back for some specific fragments of the image.

After upgrading with Belle Refresh build on the Nokia N8, E7, C7, C6-01, X7 and Oro handsets, the software version should be shown as v111.040.1511. The Nokia E6 will get its Belle Refresh with software version v111.140.0058 later this week, while the Nokia 500 will be upgraded in the coming weeks. Nokia has noted that the update is rolling out in stages and carrier-free and SIM-free devices will get to try it first, while the carrier connected editions will be upgraded after a few additional weeks, as the update is yet to be approved by the operator.
The Belle Refresh update is available OTA (over-the-air) and it weighs just 12MB of size (for Nokia N8). You can also pull the update manually with Nokia Suite software on your PC, but it’s a 350MB package. That means you’ve to re-download the whole OS. If you haven’t received teh update notification yet, open your Nokia Suite software, connect your phone and check for the update availability.
