Research in Motion is reportedly working on bringing it’s popular messaging client BlackBerry Messenger application for its first ever tablet, BlackBerry PlayBook. The folks over CrackBerry have been reporting that the BBM app is now available in Beta through the BlackBerry Beta Zone and the app is compatible with the PlayBook tablet.
According to the sources, it is being heard that after applying a new BlackBerry Bridge v.126.96.36.199 update, users can be able to use BBM on their BB PlayBook tablets.
This feature is supposedly works with BlackBerry 6 devices only right now, but an OS 5 version should not be too far off, and it requires the PlayBook to be paired with a BlackBerry smartphone via BlackBerry Bridge.
So if you are yearning for BBM app on your PlayBook, you should keep trying the software update and Blackberry App World updates on your Blackberry devices. RIM should be rolling out the software soon and the functionality is being pushed out "tonight" with a Bridge update on the handset side, and an OS update on the tablet side.
