Back in December, Verizon rolled out a software update C771M080 for the rugged Casio G’zOne Commando handset, bringing bug fixes and Netflix compatibility and other things. Today, the carrier has updated the support page of the Casio G’zOne Commando handset with a new firmware update details. According to the support page, the software update C771M100 is set to be rolled out for the Casio G’zOne Commando handset. The new update is carrying many enhancements including the free Push-to-Talk capabilities, security fixes and some other regular features.

Here is the full change-log of the C771M100 Software Update:

# Push to Talk is now available at no additional monthly charge.
# Updated Google Mobile Services to Gingerbread R8.
# Improvements in security with the latest Google Security Patch.
# Addition of the Alert message for zoom functionality when picture quality reaches the maximum (5.0 MP).
# A new, enhanced Verizon Video Application will replace the current V CAST Video app.
# You can now successfully delete emails without delay.
# Addition of the Text messaging and multimedia messaging signatures.
# You can now enter your PIN/Password in Lotus Traveler without error.
# Screen will be locked after a call is ended via a Bluetooth headset.
# LED flash for missed call or text has been added back.

Casio G’zOne Commando C771M100 Sofwtare Update

 The ~35MB software update C771M100 is marked as “Coming Soon” and will be automatically rolled out to the Casio G’zOne Commando handsets via OTA (Over-The-Air) upgrade process. But just in case your handset hasn’t shown up yet, you can go to Menu –> Settings –> About Device –> System Updates –> tap Check New –> and pull the update manually. Make sure that the update is available –> wait for some to finish the downloading process –> Device Reboots –> Installation should start now –> Follow the on-screen instructions until the process to get finished –> Done.  After finishing the installation of the update, the software version should be shown as C771M100.

How To enable Push to Talk on Casio G’zOne Commando handset:

# Complete the Over the Air software update.

# If you are a business customer, ensure that the Push to Talk feature code has been added to your account by logging in to My Business Account or Verizon Enterprise Center, or by calling 1.800.VZW.4BIZ. If you are a consumer, log into My Verizon or call 1.800.2.JOIN.IN. Once you’ve added the Push to Talk feature code, you are now ready to use Push to Talk.

# Open the Push to Talk app from within the Apps tab on the Casio Commando and enable Push to Talk by selecting “OK”. The side key on the Commando will automatically change to Push to Talk ready.
