At CES 2011, Samsung and Verizon has introduced a new Samsung 4G LTE Mobile Hotspot device for Verizon’s 4G LTE network, which can simultaneously connect up to 5 Wi-Fi devices over Wi-Fi connection and should be emitting 5-12Mbps down speeds & 2-5Mbps up speeds. This dual-mode device is also backward compatible with Verizon Wireless’ 3G network.
Samsung has announced that they’ll be releasing 4G LTE version of its Galaxy Tab for Verizon Wireless, which will be having the ability of accessing Verizon’s 4G LTE network, and will be upgrading to 1.2GHz Hummingbird processor and a 5 megapixel camera and having 7-inch touch display. Television maker Vizio has confirmed that it will be entering to phone and tablet venture and launching Via Tablet and Via Phone and both will be powered by Android. iPhone Dev Team has released its Redsn0w 0.9.7b4 to untether iOS 4.2.1 jailbreak on iPhone 4, iPod Touch 4G & iPad, which will terminate the need to install and run a separate program for usbmux. Currently, it is Mac-only test program. Windows users will have to wait for the public release of Redsn0w 0.9.7.
On the New Year’s day, a bug messing up the Apple’s Clock app in iOS, which lets single-use, non-repeating alarms fail to go off at all after New Year’s Day. This means that anybody who sets an alarm just for tomorrow won’t be woken up by the iPhone’s built-in alarm clock application. According to reports, this problem will get fixed by itself on January 3rd.
