CM 9 Android ICS for LG Optimus 2X P990

An unofficial Android Ice Cream Sandwich build is now available for the owners of the international version of the LG Optimus 2X (LG P990) and its U.S. version – the T-Mobile G2X (LG P999) handsets. Ricardo Cerqueira from CyanogenMod 9 team has been teasing users about the CM9 build for both the aforementioned handsets on his Google+ page. Now, RC has made the availability of the CyanogenMod 9 For LG Optimus 2X, T-Mobile G2X handsets providing the links to download the builds for the users. The CyanogenMod 9 brings the latest and greatest version of the Android OS – 4.0.3 Ice Cream Sandwich for both handsets.

You can also see the CM 9 build’s progress of the LG Optimus 2X handset on the spread sheet pictured at the bottom of this post. According to RC, there is no acceleration for media neither for video decoding nor encoding and Apps specifically made for Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich graphics implementations will have some unknown issues. The build is carrying the “partial” functionality for the phone’s camera and video playback capabilities at this time.

  1. since I upgraded to v30a of ICS I have not been able to get into recovery mode. I have been trying to get an update but it seems that all the links are broken. any ideas on this I need to get into recovery to get my backups im getting frustrated
