The Cyanogen team has been working on a number of new features for version CyanogenMod 9. In late December, a Trebuchet launcher for CyanogenMod 9 has outed online. Now, a new media player called CyanogenMod 9 Music App is now available to download.

This app offers a new level of customization controls in the notification tray that you won’t find in other music apps. It also offers gesture controls, a theme system, currently playing song, gestures for audio controls, sharing the current track with any of your social media outlets, as well as lockscreen player controls enabled and you can also set your favorite song as a ringtone with one button. In CyanogenMod 9 Music app, you won’t find stock Music app’s “Recent”, “Songs” and “Genres” tabs.

You can download the CyanogenMod 9 Music app from the following link provided here at below. The app hasn’t yet made its way to Android Market. But, the developer of CM Music, Andrew Neal, has confirmed that we’ll see it in the Android Market and CyanogenMod 9 shortly. You can also download the Google Music’ style theme

Please note that CyanogenMod 9 Music app is only available for handsets running Android Ice Cream Sandwich OS. That means you should have a Samsung Galaxy Nexus phone.
