Yesterday, ASUS America teased some v4.2 Jelly Bean goodies for the U.S. edition of the Transformer Pad Infinity TF700T tablet on its official Facebook page. In early March, the company rolled out Android 4.2 Jelly Bean update for Infinity’s younger cousin, the Asus Transformer Pad 300 tablet. Finally, Asus has begun pushing out the Android 4.2 Jelly Bean update for the Transformer Pad Infinity tablet in the United States.
The new software is based on Android 4.2.1 Jelly Bean build. The new build number is JOP40D.US_epad-10.6.1.14.1. Here’s the official changelog of the Android 4.2 JB build for Pad Infinity:
Upgrade to Android Jelly Bean 4.2
- Multiple account login for up-to 4 user accounts
- ASUS Screen Saver in DayDream Feature
- Parental Lock
- New Camera AP
- Lock screen wallpaper
- New UI for ASUS IME.
- Set Ethernet settings as default ON.
IME Settings (TW/CN SKU only)
For users who have modified the default ASUS IME settings in Jelly Bean 4.1, hand-writing IME will be OFF by default, and users will have to turn it on in the IME Settings after upgrading to Jelly Bean 4.2
So there you go, folks. You will also note addition of the new widgets, a bunch of improvements, better looking fonts, a new software keyboard after the update. Users should be able to grab the update now by heading into Settings –> System Firmware Update –> Check Update and follow the on-screen instructions. We suggest you to keep checking Asus Download page if you are not seeing any update notifications on your device immediately.
We expect the the TF201 and MeMO Pad Smart Jelly Bean 4.2 updates will be here in no time.
