If you’re the lucky owner of a AT&T branded HTC Windows Phone 8X, there’s a good news for you. There’s an important OTA update waiting for you. According to WPCentral, the Windows Phone 8 “Portico” updates are continuing to roll out more handsets. AT&T is now rolling out the WP8 Portico update for its HTC 8X handset. Almost a month ago, the same OTA update made available T-Mobile branded HTC 8X and AT&T branded Nokia Lumia 920/820 handsets.
This update is about as minor as you can get. HTC 8X users will get a tweak to keep the phone connected to Wi-Fi under lockscreen. The update also bring new SMS features that allow users to save SMS drafts, a “Select All” option for mass deletion of messages and the ability to reject a phone call and respond with a text message, as well as IE browser improvements, improved Bluetooth pairing, stability improvements, and a preferred Wi-Fi Hotspot selection. The software version bumps up to 8.0.10211.204.
The Portico update is currently rolling out in stages. So you could see this one start hitting your devices any time. So, If you own a US AT&T-connected HTC 8X, you know the drill – head into Settings –> Phone Update –> and hit Check Now button and follow the on-screen instructions to finish the upgrading process.
