Though RIM, a global leader in wireless innovation best known as the developer of the Blackberry smartphone and tablet is now focusing to launch its upcoming Blackberry 10 operating system in the first quarter of 2013, now it also brings a major feature to BlackBerry messenger users.
Today, Research In Motion announced BBM version 7, a free update for the globally popular mobile social network, which will allow customers to make free Voice calls to other BBM customers around the world over a Wi-Fi connection.
BlackBerry Messenger is fast, convenient and low-cost service for Blackberry customers that can allow to chat with a friend, family member or others instantaneously and you can understand whether your message has been delivered or not. The most exciting feature is that with this new version, BBM 7.0, you can talk with other BBM customers around the world for free over a Wi-Fi connection. However, it doesn’t appear to be available in 3G or LTE networks any time soon.
“BBM is the quick, easy way to stay connected to the people that matter to you, and with today’s announcement we’re expanding the capabilities of the service for deeper social engagement and even greater collaboration, beginning with voice functionality,” said T.A. McCann, Vice President of BBM and Social Communities at RIM.” The notable feature of this version 7 is its integration with a customer’s BlackBerry ID that can link your contact list and groups to its ID. So you can restore your data even you change to other BlackBerry smartphones including the BlackBerry 10 device.
The BBM 7.0 with the new BBM Voice feature is now available in Beta for BlackBerry smartphones running the BlackBerry 6 or 5 Operating System. You can download this Beta for free from the company’s official website given below.
