The official Gmail app for iOS has been updated with welcome features. So what’s new? Finally, the latest update brings addition of the push support, which will get you full message excerpts to alert you about new and unread email in real time. The new Notification Center support has also been added with options for banners, alerts and lock screen notifications. You will be also notified if you have any un-read email right on your lock screen. So, you don’t have to check your inbox for new messages. The latest update bumps the software version up to 1.2.7812.
Google has also added persistent login. That means your sessions will no longer expire and you don’t have to type in your credentials every once in a while. There’s also an alternate sender support with the “send as” function. You can download the updated Gmail app for iOS from the below link.
