T-Mobile on its official website has announced that a new software update is now available for the HTC-made myTouch 3G handset. T-Mobile’s update for the myTouch 3G handset is version Android 2.2.1 / FRK76C and it doesn’t bring any massive changes to the system. The carrier is rolling out a minor update, carrying an unknown Google Security Fix and an for the handset and don’t look for any other features. The OTA update for the T-Mobile myTouch 3G handset upgrade the software version from FRG83 to FRK76C.
Keep in mind that the update is being seeded to the myTouch 3G variants that don’t have 3.5mm headset jack. The owners having myTouch 3G handsets with headphone and running on Android 1.5 or 1.6 platforms are not required to expect this update to hit their handset handsets.
T-Mobile has also confirmed that T-Mobile myTouch 3Ghandset has “exceeded Google’s support period” and recommends users to “please consider a handset upgrade to a newer and faster device.” who are awaiting for further upgraded version of the Android OS, such as Gingerbread or Ice Cream Sandwich builds.
