About a couple of days after the “Takju” variant of Samsung’s GSM Galaxy Nexus got its official Android 4.2.2 update, we’ve a good news for the “Yakju” variant of the the Galaxy Nexus handset. The Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean update is now rolling out for the “Yakju” Galaxy nexus handset too. The build number is JDQ39, just like we saw for the takju Galaxy Nexus and other Nexus devices, checks in at about 44MB.
Google has also made direct download link of Android 4.2.2 build available for the ‘yakju’ Galaxy Nexus variant. Hit up the below link to download it.
Make sure you follow the instructions provided at source below for the full rundown and flash your handset safely.
This is strictly for those users, who don’t want to wait for the OTA update’s rollout can manually flash the OTA update, which can be downloaded from the above link. You should keep in mind that the update we’re talking about here is meant for the international version of the Galaxy Nexus (Yakju) handset, not from the Play Store. If you have this variant handy, your device should be running build JOP40D before you try to install the update. You can flash it via custom recovery, use “adb sideload <filename>” from stock recovery.
You can also try to pull the update by following this trick: Head in to Settings –> Apps –> All –> now tap on “Google Services Framework” –> now click on Clear Data and Force Stop button –> restart your device –> and check for the update via Settings icon.
