At the MWC 2013 event, Alcatel announced the Alcatel One Touch Fire which is powered by the latest Mozilla’s Firefox mobile Operating system. It was not the only Firefox OS device which was announced at the event. A new smartphone from ZTE called the ZTE One is also packed with the latest operating system.
Like the introduction of Mozilla Firefox OS powered devices from ZTE and Alcatel, other manufacturers, LG and Huawei are also likely to offer their respective devices powered by the latest mobile platform. From the two images (shown above and below), it has been confirmed that ZTE and Huawei are set to unveil their devices. The first image is Huawei’s device packed with the platform and LG’s device running on the latest mobile OS is shown below which is sitting between Alcatel One Touch Fire and a ZTE Open smartphones. It is reported that the images of the devices were caught from Telefonica’s booth at the Mobile world Congress event. But there’s no further info regarding the names of the upcoming devices and when the devices will be unveiled.
Japanese mobile manufacturer Sony is planning to introduce Firefox powered devices in 2014. It was confirmed by Sony’s deputy CEO stating that Sony engineers are currently working with Firefox OS Mobile and HTML 5 evolving technologies.
You can note that Samsung is planning to introduce its first smartphone powered by Tizen mobile operating system in July or August this year. Ubuntu powered mobile devices are also expected to be available later this year or early in 2014.
