Galaxy Tab A8 gets Android 13 One UI 5.0 update in India & Europe

Samsung isn’t finished yet with updating all of its eligible devices to the latest Android operating system. The manufacturer has seeding out the big update for several of its devices, and now the Galaxy Tab A8 tablet has joined for the love of Android 13. This tablet made its debut in 2022 with Android 12 based One UI 4.x onboard.

Samsung starts rolling out the Android 13 based One UI 5 update for the Galaxy Tab A8 in Europe countries and India. It is currently rolling out in many European countries including Romania, Luxembourg, Poland, Slovenia, Spain, the UK, Hungary, Bulgaria, Germany, the Netherlands, Austria, the Czech Republic, Greece, Switzerland, Slovakia, Italy, France, and Portugal.

The update is available for both the Wi-Fi and LTE versions of this tablet. According to SamMobile, below is the info you’ll need to make sure you grab the right firmware:

  • LTE + Wi-Fi India Galaxy Tab A8: X205XXU1CVL5
  • Wi-Fi only Europe Galaxy Tab A8: X200XXU1CVL5
  • LTE + Wi-Fi Europe Galaxy Tab A8: X205XXU1CVL6


The One UI 5.0 brings improved changes to the UI, including an expanded color Palette feature, bigger notifications icons, and better blur effects in the notifications area, Stacked Widgets, a lot of accessibility features, and improved lock screen customization. You will also see a set of updated stock apps including Samsung Internet, Samsung Keyboard, Camera, Gallery, MyFiles and many more changes.

The update also brings new app icons & illustrations, new animations and transition effects, enhanced scrolling speed, and improved contrast. It also brings more UI changes and relocates some UI elements such as the settings and power shortcuts within the Quick Settings menu

The update must be rolling out in stages now, so it will take time for the update to hit every tablet in the coming days. If you can’t wait for the update, You can navigate to the Galaxy Tab A8’s Settings > Software update menu to check for the update manually.
