Galaxy Tab S6 Lite Wi-Fi bumped up to Android 13 One UI 5.0

Yesterday, Samsung released the Android 13 update for the LTE version of the 2.5-year-old Galaxy Tab S6 Lite (SM-P615) tablet. Today, its Wi-Fi version is getting the same treatment and love from Samsung.

Samsung has started issuing the Android 13-based One UI 5.0 update for the Galaxy Tab S6 Lite Wi-Fi (SM-P610) variants. The update is live for France users at the moment. Users in other regions should get it in the following days or weeks, but you will get it very soon.

It is worth mentioning, this is the last major OS update for the Galaxy Tab S6 Lite 2020 version, which started life with Android 10 back in May of 2020. It is eligible for 3 OS updates, and this is its third and final major update. But the manufacturer will still continue to take care of this tablet by pushing out security patch updates.

As of now, we don’t know the firmware version number, carried by this update, but it brings the November 2022 Android security patch. Samsung already started pushing out the January 2023 security patch for its devices.

One UI 5.0 brings all the Android 13 goodies, along with a new taskbar, to Galaxy tablets. This update will get you improved multitasking and enables a more desktop-like experience for your 2.5-year-old Galaxy Tab S6 Lite. The update also brings a new lock screen customization menu, stacked widgets for the home screen, a redesigned Recent Apps screen with better animations, a new “Connected devices” menu inside the Settings app, better color palette integration for customizing your home screen, and app icons, and more.

If you live in France and own this tablet, you can try for receiving the One UI 5.0 update on your device, you can check for it manually by heading to the tablet’s Settings > Software update menu.
