Google Pixel Fold reportedly spotted in public

According to a recent Reddit post, a Pixel Fold smartphone may have been spotted in the wild. The post features blurry images of a person using what appears to be a foldable smartphone on the New York City Subway. The device in question appears to have a large, foldable display and a visible crease down the middle.

The Pixel Fold has been long-rumored and has yet to be officially announced by Google. However, this sighting suggests that the device may be closer to release than previously thought. With Samsung, Oppo, Huawei, Honor and Motorola, and other companies already offering foldable smartphones, the Pixel Fold could be a significant addition to the market.

If the images are indeed of a Pixel Fold smartphone, it is unclear when the device will be officially announced or released. However, the sighting of the device in the wild is a promising sign for those eagerly awaiting the release of Google’s first foldable smartphone.

As with all rumors and leaks, it is important to take this news with a grain of salt until there is official confirmation from Google. Nonetheless, the blurry images of the Pixel Fold smartphone on the subway have generated excitement and anticipation among fans of Google’s hardware offerings.

The Reddit user claims that a Google employee was spotted using what appears to be a Pixel Fold smartphone on the New York City Subway. While the images are blurry, the original poster claims that they show the device’s cover screen and its noticeable black bezels.

Based on the most recent rumors and leaks, the Pixel Fold is expected to have a design similar to the Oppo Find N2, with a compact cover display and a large folding screen. The cover display is expected to be smaller than the main display, and will likely show notifications, time, and other relevant information.

While the images posted on Reddit do not provide a clear look at the device’s design, they do add to the growing speculation that Google is working on a foldable smartphone.

Google’s unreleased phones can’t keep a low profile and it seems like Google just can’t keep its unreleased phones under wraps. If the Pixel Fold sighting is legitimate, it would mark the second time that an upcoming Google device has been spotted on public transit, following the Pixel 4’s appearances on the London Underground and an airplane in 2019. And who can forget the infamous incident when a Pixel 3 XL was left behind in a taxi, leading to leaks and speculation months before its official release.

Rumors and leaks surrounding the Pixel Fold suggest that it will have a 7.57-inch foldable panel and a 5.78-inch cover display made by Samsung Display. The device is also expected to have a 4,700 mAh battery.

Recent reports suggest that the Pixel Fold is set to enter mass production in Q3, which could mean that the device will be officially announced and released later in the year. The device is rumored to cost around $1,800 once it launches, which would make it one of the most expensive smartphones on the market. With Google I/O scheduled to begin on May 10, there is a possibility that the Pixel Fold could be announced during the event or else we may also get some glimpse of the device.
