Honor X40 GT with SD888 SoC, 6.8″144Hz launching on Oct 13

The Honor X40 arrived in the middle of September and some recent reports confirmed that the company is already preparing to launch the another handset in this series. Honor scheduled an official announcement for October 13 at 7:30PM local time in China. The manufacturer will officially introduce the new Honor X40 GT at that event.

Some reliable sources are suggesting the Honor X40 GT phone will have Snapdragon 888 chipset under the hood and it is also expected to feature a high-end 6.8-inch LCD display with 2388 x 1080 pixels of resolution that delivers 144Hz refresh rate.  According to the previous rumors it will ship with a massive 6,000mAh battery with 66W fast charging speeds.

The handset also leaked in a couple of hands-on live images revealing its design on both front and back sides. As per the images and launch posters, the device comes with a punch hole cutout on the display for housing the selfie camera below the earpiece. The display is curved, while the back houses a total of three cameras aligned across a huge circle cutout with GT logo carved in the center.

So the Honor X40 GT is going to be a gaming phone possibly bringing a refresh rate above 144Hz and Honor is campaigning this phone as “God of War Challenge.” The X40 GT is already up for pre bookings on all major online retailers in China with no price yet. There are three more days until the launch, so we believe Honor to tease more features until then.
