A leak from last month claimed that Wi-Fi calling feature would be coming for a couple of T-Mobile handsets including Samsung Galaxy S II and HTC Amaze 4G. If you own HTC Amaze 4G handset, you should be getting notification alerts about the new firmware update. T-Mobile has started rolling out a new software update 1.43.531.3 for the HTC Amaze 4G handset, which brings a set of bug fixes along with the Wi-Fi calling feature. The full changelog of the new software update is as follows:
# Wi-Fi Calling enabled.
# Improvements to Bluetooth connection.
# Addition of Google Music.
# Fix for Clock widget not updating with time zone change.
# Improvement to Twitter and Peep application.
# Improved Wi-Fi connectivity.
The update roll-out process is going all the way through the month. So, you will be seeing the notification alerts on your HTC Amaze 4G handset or else you might not get the update notification just yet. But you can force your handset to check for the update by heading over to Home –> Menu –> About Phone –> HTC Software Update –> and tap the Check button –> After receiving a notification that you received the update, hit Download button –> and tap Install Now button –> Follow the on-screen instructions and wait for a while until the update process finishes successfully and the software version number should be shown as 1.50.531.1 / Android 2.3.4.
So, start making calls from your HTC Amaze 4G handset over your home network and don’t bother about your allocated minutes.
