According to a leaked document, HTC Arrive is schelued to receive a software update on May 24, 2011. The document which was showed up at spantechular.com has referred to the update as “1.29.651.02”. The update has been listed as the one that will provide “better device security” for HTC Arrive. The update will arrive starting May 24th via Zune client. You can check your HTC Arrive Windows Phone 7’s current software version from Start > Applications > About > More Info. When the update is available, you need to connect your phone’s USB cable to the PC and fire up the Zune. Select Update > Update now from the program’s menu on the PC and follow the on screen instructions.
The software update 1.29.651.02 will include fixes/patches for fraudulent third party software certificates that make it easier for unauthorised access from hackers. Of course, this is not the Windows Phone 7.5 “Mango” update that we are all excited about, but still it should matter to most of the Arrive owners who like to have their phone’s security tighten up all the time. We’ll keep your posted when Sprint starts rolling out this update. Mean while, did you know that HTC Arrive for Sprint currently discounted to $0.01 at Amazon ?
