A couple of days ago, we reported about the full specs sheet leak of the new Android phone called HTC Runnymede, which is yet to be announced by the Taiwanese manufacturer officially. It looks like the Runnymede will be launched as HTC Bass according to an U.K. based retailer website Handtec. We also got to see the original press shots of the HTC Runnymede, which are looking same as that of the HTC Bass handset that has been placed on the retailer website. The UK retailer has put up a product page for the HTC Bass, however the pricing remains at £0.00. The brand name “Bass” is reminding us that this handset is going to be a music-centric one and moreover the handset will be switching to Beats by Dr. Dre profile to offer a great multimedia experience with the help of the Beats Audio in-ear buds. The recently launched HTC Sensation XE, (which is a rebranded version of the original Sensation) is the first Android phone coming with the Beats Dr.Dre profile bringing a premium audio experience.
HTC bass packs a 1.5GHz single-core processor, a huge monster sized 4.7-inch QVGA display, 768MB of RAM, 16GB of storage, an 8 megapixel main camera which can record 720p HD videos, 1.3-megapixel webcam to make video chats and the phone will be shipping with Android 2.3.4 Gingerbread OS skinned with the new HTC Sense UI 3.5 customizations.

There is no official word on a release date or pricing yet. A closer look at the above image might suggest that we’ll see more of these two devices very soon. The clock widget in the handset shows “October 4th”, suggesting us that we will see its launch on the same date. Doesn’t the brand name “Bass” make more sense than “Runnymede”?
