Some rumors have reported that the Verizon branded HTC Droid Incredible handset was no longer on the list to get Gingerbread update. But we didn’t believe those rumors, and we haven’t discussed about it here on Gadgetian too. Well, to prove the rumor was false, Verizon has announced on its website that the Gingerbread update is all ready for the HTC Droid Incredible handset, and it has put a couple of support PDF files on its website. The carrier has started pushing out the Android 2.3.4 Gingerbread update for Droid Incredible handset, which happens to be build number 4.06.605.2. The owners of the HTC Droid Incredible handset owners will be seeing the notification on their screen panels to accept the new firmware update. If you haven’t been prompted to install the update yet, the HTC Droid Incredible owners can pull the update manually by pulling the Menu –> Settings –> Software Update –> tap Check Now button. Now, you’ll be prompted to get your brand new 87.8MB of Gingerbread goodness and follow the on-screen instructions to finish the upgrade process. Clearly you don’t own an Incredible. “Menu – Settings – Software Update – Check New” is impossible. However, you can do “Menu – Settings – About Phone – System Updates.” You can’t force it to check for anything tho.
I just got this update…. it downloaded, installed and now it doesn’t read apps that were installed to my sd card. It also keeps showing the phone is low on space but has over 80% free on the phones internal memory and sd card. Anyone know how to fix this?

Have the same issue with SD card, both on mine and my husband’s Incredible. It works for us to pull the card out while the phone is still on, and put it back in, then it is recognized and everything works. It can be unmounted first but I don’t think it makes a difference. The downside is that every time the phone is powered down for whatever reason it has to be done again. I hope someone figures out a permanent solution.
LOL as far as the sd card you may have to take it out of your phone and put it into your windows pc to copy the file off it, reformat your mico sd with FAT32 and not FAT16 then copy the files back over the sd and put it back into your phone boot up the phone thats it.
one of the things they change in 2.3.4 is the format they use
they went from FAT16 to FAT32
i’m running 2.2 on my HTC Droid Incredible but not long ago my sd stop working so i got a new one to did FAT32 on it.
so wen i go to 2.3.4 i hope it installs ok
