HTC Flyer 3G Gets Honeycomb Update In Europe

Finally, the most awaited Android 3.2.1 Honeycomb OS update is now rolling out for HTC’s first ever tablet device, Flyer. Various reports are confirming that Gingerbread powered 7-inch HTC Flyer 3G tablets are being upgraded to the Android 3.2.1 Honeycomb OS via an OTA (Over-The-Air) update all over the Europe and the France. HTC has officially announced that it is indeed rolling out to the GSM HTC Flyer in Europe. The Android 3.2.1 Honeycomb OS update will bring many new features to the tablet, including the latest version of Sense for Tablets with “enhanced internet browsing, mail, calendar, and more all optimized for the 7-inch screen.” In early September, we first saw the leaked screenshots of the Honeycomb build for HTC Flyer.

HTC has also confirmed that Wi-Fi variant of the Flyer tablets will “receive its Honeycomb update soon.” hopefully the rest of the world won’t be too far behind including the U.S. and it would be awesome if the Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich OS build will be available by the first quarter of the next year.


Android 3.2.1 Update For HTC Flyer 3G

HTC Flyer users should be receiving the messages on their screen panels stating that there is a new update available, asking to accept it. No need to worry if the update hasn’t hit your device yet, you can force the update by heading over to Menu –> Settings –> Phone Info (About Tablet) –> Software Updates –> and hit on the Check Now button. If the update found, follow the on-screen instructions to finish the upgrade process. Don’t forget to take a full backup of the device before you proceed for the upgrade process to feed some Honeycomb juice to your Flyer tablet.
